News from the Grandi Giardini Italiani Network

In 2025, the network of the most beautiful visitable gardens in Italy records the addition of 11 more gardens. The Grandi Giardini Italiani excellence network welcomes Villa La Rotonda (Vicenza) with its magnificent Romantic Grove and Villa di Maser (Maser, TV), where part of the garden behind the villa, which had been uncultivated for years, has been reopened. Two absolute masterpieces by Andrea Palladio, privately owned in Veneto. The prestigious Venice Gardens Foundation has joined with the Orto Giardino del Convento della Chiesa del Santissimo Redentore (Giudecca, Venice), having already included the Royal Gardens in Piazza San Marco last year.

Villa Togni, formerly Averoldi (Gussago, BS), is among the new gardens in Lombardy and perfectly represents the blend of art and nature, being the home of the Domani l’Aurora Foundation, dedicated to Baroque music and established by Giulio Francesco Togni, harpsichordist and conductor. Also in Lombardy, the Botanical Garden of Pavia will reopen to visitors in spring 2025, following an important restoration thanks to the PNRR.

Near Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este in Tivoli (Rome), lies Villa Gregoriana, a FAI-Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano property, one of the historic “gorges,” much loved by Grand Tour tourists. Villa Gregoriana brings to 10 the number of FAI properties that are part of Grandi Giardini Italiani, emphasizing the shared vision of teaching the importance of Italian gardens and landscapes.
Among the private gardens, the Caneva Gardens (Sarzana, SP) have joined the Network, the property of a botanical collector who has arranged the plants into sections dedicated to important explorers from the past.

In the Marche region, the spectacular garden of Villa Miralfiore (Pesaro) has joined: an Italian garden with an attached museum dedicated to contemporary art, featuring works of rare beauty made of glass.
In Campania, the Grandi Giardini Italiani network is joined by the Giardino Torre (Naples), nestled in the Real Bosco di Capodimonte, with a magnificent vegetable garden and an impressive collection of citrus fruits, and Villa Cimbrone (Ravello, SA), one of the most iconic locations on the Amalfi Coast.

In Sicily, the Victoria Gardens (Taormina, ME) have joined, an ancient estate with orange production and a brand-new rose garden featuring a selection of roses that thrive in the climate.
The new gardens represent artistic and botanical excellence, maintaining a high level of care and are all open to visitors. The owners and curators of the Grandi Giardini Italiani share the same commitment to promoting Horticultural Tourism, while also organizing courses on various topics, making these places where the local community can enrich its cultural knowledge in a pleasant and welcoming environment.
