EIMA 2024: Innovative Solutions for Agriculture and Green Care in the United Arab Emirates

The 46th edition of EIMA International was presented in Dubai. Both the agricultural technology sector and the gardening machinery market are growing in the United Arab Emirates. This upward trend is expected to continue through 2027. The Bologna exhibition offers operators in the Middle Eastern country technologies suited to meet every production need in the primary sector, with a focus on EIMA Green and gardening machinery.

Sales of agricultural machinery in the UAE have been increasing since 2021 and, according to forecasts from Exportplanning analysts, are expected to continue growing at a rate of 4.4% per year at least until 2027. The demand for agricultural technologies, which generated purchase volumes exceeding 262 million euros last year, is mainly met through imports. China (€81.8 million), the United States (€32.2 million), Japan (€20.1 million), Italy (€20 million), and the United Kingdom (€15.3 million) are the main suppliers, covering 62% of the agricultural machinery needs.

Data on the agromechanical sector’s performance in the UAE was presented this morning in Dubai during a press conference dedicated to the unveiling of EIMA International, the global agricultural machinery exhibition scheduled to take place in Bologna from November 6 to 10. Held in front of a qualified audience of journalists and industry professionals, the conference was organized by the Italian Consulate General in Dubai, the ICE Office in Dubai, and FederUnacoma, the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers that organizes EIMA International. The event featured the participation of Italy’s Consul General in Dubai, Edoardo Napoli; the director of the ICE Office in the UAE, Valerio Soldani; the Deputy Director of FederUnacoma, Fabio Ricci; and the operational secretary of Comagarden (the association representing gardening machinery manufacturers), Federica Tugnoli.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that projections by Export Planning up to 2027 indicate that Italy will further strengthen its market share in the Middle Eastern country, surpassing Japan and thus becoming the third largest foreign supplier of agricultural machinery.
