17th NATIONAL DAY OF MEDITERRANEAN NURSERY GARDENING

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, the 17th edition of the National Day of Mediterranean Nursery Gardening will take place in Monopoli—one of the most anticipated events in the Italian nursery and floriculture sector, promoted by ANVE in collaboration with Vivai Capitanio.

This year’s central theme is “sustainability,” now considered an essential value—not just a source of inspiration, but a concrete strategy for growth and innovation in the sector.

Throughout the day, there will be a series of scientific presentations, business testimonials, case studies, and in-depth discussions focused on the three pillars of sustainability—environmental, economic, and social—culminating in an exploration of the role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the green transition.

Speakers will include academic experts, entrepreneurs from the sector, training professionals, and institutional representatives. Particularly awaited is the presentation of the “Stefano Capitanio” Graduation Award, which aims to support and highlight the new generation of green professionals.

Moreover, a new feature of this year’s event is the addition of an afternoon session, which will include:

  • an in-depth focus on “garden tech” and botanical culture, thanks to the local meeting of AICG – Italian Association of Garden Centres;
  • the presentation of books written by Gianni Pisciotta and Vittorio Capitanio, two nurserymen and ANVE members;
  • a guided tour of Vivai Capitanio and the “Lama degli ulivi” botanical garden.

The event is endorsed by leading organizations in the sector and, in accordance with the relevant regulations, grants Professional Training Credits (CFP) for Agronomists, Foresters, Agricultural Experts, and Graduated Agricultural Experts.
