The government is paying close attention to the agricultural sector regarding fiscal matters, said Maurizio Leo, Deputy Minister of Economy, speaking at the CIA annual assembly. In fact, a legislative decree on taxation will be presented, in which there is great consideration for agricultural taxation. Leo cited as examples the tax treatment of innovative agricultural activities and productions, such as vertical farms, and the flat-rate tax measures for agricultural companies. When asked about any potential fiscal measures for the inner areas, Leo emphasized the existing opportunities for foreign companies that wish to invest in agricultural activities in these areas, with the commitment to maintain the activity for several years.
