The Ministry of Tourism has published the implementation provisions for the allocation of resources aimed at creating and redeveloping equipped areas for temporary tourist parking, as part of the fund of 32 million and 870 thousand euros aimed at enhancing outdoor tourism.
“This is a concrete action to support a rapidly growing tourism segment that needs investment, primarily to bridge the gap with major European competitors,” commented Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè. “We are organizing the sector, and these measures will provide new lifeblood to sustainably support the constant growth of a sector that continues to be a driving force for the economy.”
The beneficiaries of this measure are Italian municipalities that meet these two requirements:
– A population not exceeding 20,000 inhabitants.
– Availability of public utility areas or public use of the areas subject to the intervention for which funding is requested.
Municipalities that do not meet the first requirement can still apply if they present one of the following characteristics:
– They host recurring events or large events annually with expected attendance of at least 20,000 people.
– They present projects for the construction of parking areas within 15 km of a historical and/or religious path or a site recognized on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The amount of the grant for each project cannot exceed a maximum of 80% of the eligible expenses, with the maximum contribution being:
– 6,000 euros for each pitch for the construction and management of a new parking area.
– 3,600 euros for each pitch in the case of redeveloping existing parking areas.
The maximum grant for each equipped parking area is:
– 400,000 euros for newly created areas.
– 240,000 euros for redeveloped areas.
Each intervention must be completed by June 30, 2026.
The funding application must be submitted through the online platform, which will be accessible via SPID/CIE in the “Service News” section of the ministry’s website 60 days after the publication of this notice. There will then be 30 days from the platform’s opening date to submit the application.
